Witnesses to marriage are Alexander Longworth and Mary Jane Longworth (Clayton) who were married at the same time in the Registry Office (June 1907 Blackburn 8e 984). Earlier 1901 Census (RG13/3911/176) incorrectly shows Alexander and Mary Jane as already married.

The marriage certificate shows incorrect forenames and ages for both parties which is thought to be deliberate to hide the fact they were both minors and possibly had no parental consent.

On a trip to Blackpool on the 24th June 1930, Sarah was run over by a motor coach in Long Lane, Ashton. She sustained a compound fracture of the right femur and other injuries and died in the Royal Infirmary at Preston the same day. An Inquest was held by Coroner for Lancashire Southwest 26th June 1930 but no records of the inquest have been located. Compensation was paid by the bus company which Joseph Walsh refused to share with Sarah's children from her first marriage.
